SECTION 37, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Conflict Resolution, anti-Harassment Policy and Procedure: Section 37 is a transitional section of the Faculty Handbook. The committee came to the meeting prepared to discuss their review of the proposed transition plans and drafted a response for each subsection.
Statutes discussion: The first statement in 37.5.2 Policy “Annual performance evaluations are required by the Board of Regents.” Is stronger than the 1st sentence in current handbook 3.1.2 “Each Faculty member is entitled to receive an annual, written review from their Unit Head.” Committee suggested the language in the current Handbook be strengthened to show requirement for annual performance evaluations. The goal is to present this to the Executive Board on November 5th in order to be on the agenda to seek approval at the General Faculty meeting on November 19th.
