1. Prerequisite changes in the NRE program were reviewed. No concerns were indicated. This informational item required no vote.
2. A motion was made to approve requests from the School of Aerospace Engineering to add a new course and to deactivate an existing course. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
AE 4310 Space Flight Mechanics 3-0-3
AE 4380 Astronautics 3-0-3
3. A motion was made to approve a request from the College of Architecture for a new course, COA 3114. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
COA 3114 Art and Architecture in Greece 3-0-3
4. A motion was made to approve a request from the School of Biology to participate in the Research Option, add a new course, and change degree requirements. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
BIOL 4590 Research Project Lab 1-6-3
Corequisite is BIOL 4450. During the transition to the new course, students who have taken BIOL 4450 should contact the department for an override of the corequisite
requirement at registration.
BIOL 4590 will replace 3 existing project labs, BIOL 4290, 4390, and 4490.
Change in Degree Requirements
Students will be exempted from BIOL 4590 Research Project Lab by
Fulfilling their research requirement with:
BIOL 4910 Honors Undergraduate Research Thesis
BIOL 4699 Undergraduate Research (3 credit hours)
BIOL 4698 (Research Assistantship, w/ approval of the
SOB Undergraduate Coordinator), 12 credit hours
Note: BIOL 4910 and BIOL 4699 must be taken for a letter grade.
Students using BIOL 4910, BIOL 4699, or BIOL 4698 as their research
experience must enroll in Senior Seminar concurrently or the semester
immediately after these courses.
