Administrative Matters

 

1. Charles Parsons was elected Chair.  John Tone was elected Vice Chair.

2. The draft meeting schedule was adopted. The starting time was changed to 3:15 to accommodate travel time to the meeting location. The Registrar will provide a meeting schedule to the Committee once rooms have been reserved.

3. Subcommittee assignments were discussed.  The Registrar will finalize the list and submit to the Committee members.

 

Academic Matters

 

1. The rounding of credits from Sciences Po in France was approved on an experimental basis. The decision will be reviewed in two years to determine whether the practice should be continued or whether any adjustment need to be made in the process. An interim report will be provided to the IUCC in one year.

 

Petitions

 

1.      Student Petitions Considered and Voted-Upon by the Committee

The committee reviewed petitions remaining from the previous meeting as well as new petitions.  All were approved except as noted:

1-to participate in collegiate athletic activities while on academic probation

1-to late add Music course to Summer 2007 schedule (denied)

1-late Summer 2007 withdrawal and Fall 2007 readmission

1-selective withdrawal (denied)

1- permission to cross-register at GSU although not yet a junior

1-late Summer 2007 withdrawal

1-to waive 36-hour rule

1-late selective withdrawal Spring 2007 (denied)

1-late withdrawal Fall 2006 and Spring 2007

1-to withdraw Summer 2007 short session

 

2.      Petitions Handled by Administrative Decision

The following petitions met the guidelines for “Administrative Action,” and were decided by the registrar under the authority granted to her by the Committee.  All were approved except as noted:

 

14- Fall 2007 readmission after first drop

18-return Fall 2007 after withdrawing Summer

1-to count “D” grade in MATH 1502 despite “F” grade in second attempt

1-to waive the 10-year rule (form received with all applicable signatures)

1-to exceed registration hours to fifteen (student in final term)
