1. A motion was made to approve the Minutes from meetings on August 29, 2006 and July 26, 2006. †The motion was seconded and approved with the notation to add Beth Davis as in attendance at the July 26 meeting. Unanimous.

 

2. A motion was made to accept the recommendations of the Subcommittee on student petitions as follows. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

3. A motion was made to approve a student petition for admission to full graduate standing based on a 3-year undergraduate degree. The motion was seconded and approved. Not unanimous.

4. A motion was made to deny a student petition to double-count UG courses toward a Masterís degree. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

5. A motion was made to deny a student petition to use 6 hours of UG Electives towards the MS degree with a waiver of the 3.5 GPA requirement. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

6. A consultation item was presented by the College of Computing. A motion was made to endorse a plan for the College of Computing to create new schools within that College (Interactive and Intelligent Computing and Computing Science and Systems). The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

 

7. A motion was made to approve a request from ISyE for a dual MS degree between Georgia Tech and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

8. A motion was made to approve a request from the College of Computing for a double degree program (MSCS) with the Department of Computer Science at Korea University. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

9. A motion was made to approve a request from Mechanical Engineering for a new course, ME 6105. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
