Note: All action items in these minutes require approval by the Academic Senate.  In some instances, items may require further approval by the Board of Regents or the University System of Georgia.  If the Regents' approval is required, the change is not official until notification is received from the Board to that effect. Items that are marked below with an asterisk (*) require USG and/or BOR approval and are not official until approval has been received. Academic units should take no action on these items until USG and/or BOR approval is secured.  In addition, units should take no action on any of the items below until these minutes have been approved by the Academic Senate or the Executive Board.

1.     A motion was made to approve the Minutes of August 23, 2007. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

2.     There were no administrative items that required action.

3.     A motion was made to approve subcommittee recommendations on student petitions in the following areas. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

4.     A motion was made and seconded to approve a petition requesting a selective withdrawal from a Fall 2006 course based on medical documentation. The motion was seconded and approved.

5.     A motion was made to approve a request for degree modifications and new courses from the Nuclear and Radiological Engineering and Medical Physics Program. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

Note: The question was raised as to whether any existing courses will become dormant. The Program will contact the Registrarís Office in the future to make those determinations.

6.     A motion was made to table a request from the College of Computing for a new course. The motion was seconded and approved.  

7.     A motion was made to approve a request from the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering to cross-list a course. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

        ME/NRE/HP 7757 to be designated as ChBE/ME/NRE/HP 7757

        The Committee requested that the Registrarís Office determine whether the HP subject code should be universally replaced with the MP code
