1. A motion was made to approve the Minutes of the May 2 and May 18 meetings. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.


2. A motion was made to approve the Screening Subcommittee’s recommendations on petitions related to the following matters. The motion was seconded and approved.

3. A motion was made to deny a petition requesting a selective withdrawal from a Summer 2006 course. The motion was seconded and approved.

 

4. A motion was made to approve a petition requesting a late grade change. The motion was seconded and approved.

 

 

 

5. A motion was made to deny a petition requesting use of two courses from the undergraduate toward elective and minor credit in the MS program and a waiver of the grade point average requirement for double-counting credits. The motion was seconded and approved. The Registrar will contact the Department and then the student to confirm the student’s options that are possible without petition.

 

6. No action was taken on a petition requesting a waiver of the 10-year rule. It was determined that the student remains in undergraduate status and the petition was referred to the IUCC.

 

7. A motion was made to approve two petitions requesting change from special non-degree to degree-seeking status in the EMSMOT program in the College of Management. The motion was seconded and approved.

 

The following clarification was appended: Degree-seeking status is approved for the EMSMOT program only and does not apply to other GA Tech programs.

 

8. A motion was made to change the name of the MS program in Information Design and Technology to MS in Digital Media. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

9. A motion was made to approve a proposal from the School of Mechanical Engineering for a new course. The motion was seconded and approved. Unaninous.

NOTE: The new course proposal will be amended to indicate that all grade bases are available for this course.

 

10. A motion was made to approve a request from the School of Applied Physiology for a new course and curriculum changes to the Master’s of Science Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics effective Spring 2007. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

CHANGE COURSE TITLE

 

APPH 8010 from “Research Seminar I” to “Research Seminar II.”

 

Change Sequence of the Research Seminar Course

 

APPH 8010 – Research Seminar II, to the 1st semester of the 2nd year of the MSPO program.  This change would be made to keep the numbering sequence of the research seminar courses consistent.

 

A suggestion was made to change the titles to “Research Topics I” and Research Topics II” respectively. APPH should contact the Registrar if this change is desired. If so, no further IGCC action would be necessary; the change could be made by the Registrar based on a request by APPH.
