Note: All action items in these minutes require approval by the Academic Senate.  In some instances, items may require further approval by the Board of Regents or the University System of Georgia.  If the Regents' approval is required, the change is not official until notification is received from the Board to that effect. Items that are marked below with an asterisk (*) require USG and/or BOR approval and are not official until approval has been received. Academic units should take no action on these items until USG and/or BOR approval is secured.  In addition, units should take no action on any of the items below until these minutes have been approved by the Academic Senate or the Executive Board.

  1. There were no minutes to be approved. Past minutes were approved via email. There were no administrative items on the agenda.

 

  1. A motion was made to approve the Petitions Subcommittee recommendations on petitions. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

  1. A motion was made to approve a request from the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences for a new course.† The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

 

 

NEW COURSE

 

EAS 6125 Water Quality Modeling 2-3-3

 

Note: Several changes were made to the New Course Proposal form. The levels were changed to I and II. The reference to the Undergraduate course (4625) was removed. The credit hours were adjusted to 2-3-3 to reflect the lab component. The prerequisites were clarified to read EAS 3620 or EAS 6214 or (CEE 6313 and EAS 3603) or CHEM 3411. The undergraduate course number was entered on line #9.

 

Note: In a subsequent email communication the prerequisite was further clarified as the following: Prerequisites:  The student needs to have taken only one out of the five courses listed:  EAS 3620 or EAS 6214 or CEE 6313 or EAS 3603 or CHEM 3411 (the "and" listed on the course proposal was a typo and should be replaced by an "or").

 

  1. A motion was made to approve a request from the College of Architecture for a new course. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.

 

NEW COURSE

 

COA 6010 History of the Construction Industry 3-0-3

 

Note: The New Course Proposal from was changed to reflect Levels I and II, hours of 3-0-3, the audit grade mode as an option, the undergraduate course number (4010) was listed in item #9, and the expected enrollment of 20 was added in item #12.

 

  1. A motion was made to approve a request from the School of Mathematics to cross-list Math courses as follows.† The motion was seconded and approved.
