April 25, 2002

Visitors: Conrad (PRC/ECE), Rogers (PSYCH), Tummala (ECE)
1. The School of Psychology requested that the following new course be approved. A motion was made to approve the course. The course was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
PSYC 8903 Special Problems in HCI variable hours
2. The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering requested a certificate in Microelectronics Systems Packaging. After discussion, a motion was made to approve the certificate. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
3. Andy Peterson discussed the program review process and distributed guidelines for the review. Reviews should be completed by the end of May. Seven programs had submitted necessary documents for review. Two Committee members were assigned to review one program. Reviews will be presented at a called meeting on May 14, 2002.
4. The Committee heard 2 appeals of petitions that had been previously denied and reviewed 21 petitions covering 25 actions. All were approved unless noted:
3-to change standing to full graduate
6-to use courses taken as undergrad/special student for degree
5-to waive residency requirement/6-year rule
8-to withdraw from course(s) (3 denied)
1-to be concurrently enrolled
1-appeal to have AE course changed to another AE course
1-appeal to extend “I” grade
