Minutes of January 20, 2000 as Amended in Committee
Members Present: Ron Bohlander (GTRI); Carol Colatrella (LCC); Jack Cooper (MGT); Don Frank (Library); Bonnie Heck (ECE); Nancey Green Leigh (City Planning); Paul Ohme (CEISMC)

- Ron Bohlander restated the purpose of the Academic Services Committee. In general, the committee is to monitor infrastructure that supports research and teaching. This does not include general environmental issues such as parking. Traditional topics include: Classrooms, AV-Computer issues, Bookstore, Mailroom, Travel and the Library.
- Discussion followed as to what should be added this year, the following topics were identified: Classroom Upgrades, Classroom Technology, CETL, Fifth Street Project, Bookstore Operations, and Continuing Education.
- Ron Bohlander was going to survey the committee before the next meeting. He would try to schedule one of the topics for the next meeting.
- Carol Colatrella reported that the serial review at the library has not yet started. The forms to start the process will be delivered to the department by the end of January 2000. The Whistle has talked to Carol regarding an article about the serial review issues. Carol also reported that she recently handled a faculty complaint and the librarian met with the faculty member.
The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, 2000 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Electronics Research Building, Rm. 114.
